Q.Dear Rosie - I have 2 teenage daughters and their bedrooms are a mess. No matter what I say to them it makes no difference whatsoever. What do you suggest?

R. Having 2 grown up daughters myself I can remember that situation very well. I threatened them with grounding, no pocket money - you name it I tried it! In the end I just closed the door and refused to go in there. This meant they soon ran out of clean clothes as Mum was not going in the room collecting the dirty washing, putting clean sheets on the bed or doing anything in their room at all. It took a few weeks but the message did eventually sink in and they began to keep their rooms much tidier.
